She sat on the branch of the tree she’d climbed, in her mind she launched a thousand dreams into the river below, watching them float away like time, like a place she used to know, she blew a kiss into the air not knowing where it would land, a piece of her energy drifting off into space looking for a star, she could feel the world under her stirring in her hand, see the sky, but her dreams had drifted so far, she watched as the songbird sang to her, hand to her throat, she dug her nails into the bark like the leather skin, needing so much more than a worn out note, loving so much more than the love she was in…
