Then She Is Gone

purple smoke

Purple shadows on the wall

fall like heavy smoke

drifting quietly down the hall

and then she disappears

as if she’s never had a form,

as if her spirit roams alone,

caught in the endlessness

of a storm,

then

she

is

gone…

Whispers melted in the air,

drip down like teardrops on the floor,

like fingers in her hair,

and she walks out of the door,

rivers flowing at her feet,

turn to oceans where she bleeds,

she wrings out her soul ’til the water

is so deep,

then

she

is

complete

The moon caught in her eyes,

flash like the sun at dawn,

her dreams become her sighs,

echoing off the mountain,

in the rain she fades into the day,

a stillness from her drawn,

she takes it all back,

every

thing

she

gave

away…then she is gone…
