Through The Fire

she was going through the fire,

her heart torn apart by the fight,

she’s wrapped up in a desire,

closed eyes keep out the light,

going away, like she was leavin’,

nothing was something she could believe in,

she was feeling the tear,

of her heart ripping open,

claws of a lioness laying her bare,

every bone shattered like promises broken,

she finally let go of the pain,

it was all she could do to get through,

pouring like her blood was the rain,

claps of thunder and light as she flew,

the skies lit up and there was her rainbow,

the shimmers of color drawing her in,

no voices in her mind, she was spirit and soul,

a shadow left of where she had been,

no memory of how she had let go…115
